Yesterday you were telling me about a detox program, and you mentioned not eating meat and dairy together. Yesterday arvo, I read this in the new WW mag.

When you eat meat and drink milk together in the same meal, the calcium limits your body’s absorption of iron, according to the University of Colorado Hospital Surgical Weight-Loss Center. (sic) It’s best to consume these products at least two hours apart. And, remember vitamin C helps your body absorb iron and you will better absorb calcium if you have enough vitamin D.

Obviously most of us get away with ignoring this fact. I wonder are many of us actually iron deficient but don’t know it? And what does that say about omelets, not to mention other foods?
